Opinion: 

Females make better hunters

Fact: 

Concerns with "in season" for females which can hinder hunting. All Brittanys are equally capable of hunting no matter the gender. 

Opinion: 

Females are more sweeter.

Fact: 

Females tend to be more independent, sassier, stubborn, and  adventure farther.

 Opinion: 

Females are better around children. 

Fact: 

They can be more skittish and less tolerable of hyperactive children.

  Opinion: Males are an Alpha.

Fact: Females can also be an Alpha.

A Brittany that is bred and raised properly should never show aggression. 

  Opinion: Males aren't good with children.

Fact: 

Males are great with children; they are more laid-back than females.

 If you have your Brittany neutered, this should not be an issue.

 Males do not like to cuddle, are not affectionate.

Males love to cuddle and are very affectionate.

Choosing between genders is a personal preference.  Personalities really shine at 6 weeks and with you, they will evolve and continue to grow.
 

We generally recommend that if you have young children in the home that you choose a male.
 

Can you have more than one male in a home? Yes, males do get along together.

We have several owners that have more than one male. If you have more than one male be sure to have them both neutered.
 

Can I have a female and male in the home? Yes, just make sure to have them spayed and neutered to avoid unwanted litters.
 

All Brittanys need exercise; this is an energetic breed. If you don't plan on being outdoors with them, a Brittany is not for you.
