Understanding Embark and Genetics

Sage holds a very special place in the history of Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys. Stonesriver Gunnison Top Sage, known simply as Sage, is a fourth-generation SRK Brittany, representing years of carefully preserved bloodlines and generations of dogs that have helped shape our kennel.

Born January 14, 2025, Sage is the son of Stonesriver Top Gunner and Stonesriver Roan Cloud. His pedigree brings together several important branches of our SRK family, including Stonesriver Charlie Boy, Stonesriver Mackenzie Belle, Stonesriver Liberty Belle,

 and our Original Gunner and Maddie that started SRK's story.

What makes Sage especially meaningful to us is what he represents—a living connection between our past and our future. When we look at him, we don't simply see the names printed on a pedigree. We see four generations of SRK history, the Brittanys we have loved,

 the families who have taken our puppies home, and the bloodline we have worked to carry forward.

Sage has also become an important part of the next chapter of Stonesriver. He is the sire of SRK Walker Sage, our fifth-generation SRK. Through Walker, the family line that came before Sage continues into yet another generation.

Sage has an incredibly sweet nature, enjoys shopping trips to TSC, and loves playing fetch. 

He’s fond of water, chatting, giving kisses and hugs, and always following us around. Walker, his son already proved what a great nose Sage is producing in his pups by catching his first bird at 4 moths old.

Sage is four generations of SRK'Ss heritage, and through his offspring, that legacy continues. He represents where we have been, what we cherish today, and the generations of Stonesriver Brittanys still to come. 🧡🐾

Crockett holds an important place in the SRK's breeding program. Known to us as Crockett Rockett, he comes from Southeast Texas bloodlines, bringing a different lineage into our kennel and adding greater diversity to the generations we are building at SRK.

Crockett has already proven himself as a sire, producing beautiful litters for us with Cloud, (Retired) Jessi Maybelle and Molly June. Through his puppies, we have had the opportunity to watch his influence continue into another generation something that is especially meaningful as we carefully plan the future of our kennel.

Like the Brittanys we have loved for more than two decades, Crockett represents so much of what draws us to this breed: 

intelligence, energy, devotion to his people, and that unmistakable Brittany personality.

As our breeding program continues to grow, we are placing an even greater emphasis on DNA and OFA health testing, pedigree research, and thoughtful pairing decisions. Crockett's Southeast Texas heritage gives us another valuable bloodline to work with as we make responsible decisions for the future of SRK.

Crockett is super sweet and loveable, he loves to give kisses and playing in the water. He enjoys running in our fenced in lot. His puppies are very intelligent, easy to train and just as sweet. 

Crockett isn't simply part of our breeding program—he is part of the continuing Stonesriver story. 

Through the puppies and generations that follow him, his legacy will continue for years to come. 🧡🐾

Walker holds a very special place in our hearts and in the future of Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys. Born March 8, 2026, SRK Walker Sage is our fifth-generation Stonesriver Brittany, carrying forward more than two decades of the bloodlines our kennel has worked to preserve.

Walker is the son of Stonesriver Gunnison Top Sage and Stonesriver Charlie Boy’s Gracie Belle, giving him a pedigree filled with Brittanys that have played an important role in the history of our kennel. His ancestry includes Stonesriver Top Gunner, Stonesriver Charlie Boy, Stonesriver Roan Cloud, Stonesriver Mackenzie Belle, Little Joe Rebel Buddy, and other established Brittany bloodlines.

A handsome white and orange spotted male, Walker has that unmistakable Brittany expression and personality that made us fall in love with this breed so many years ago. He represents a new generation while still carrying a piece of the generations that came before him.

We are committed to building Walker’s future on more than pedigree alone. He has completed AKC DNA profiling and comprehensive genetic health screening, and his DNA confirms him as 100% Purebred Brittany. His testing is part of our continued commitment to making informed, responsible decisions for the future of our breeding program.

Walker is a bundle of love, he enjoys playing in the water and with our Catahoula Spookie. He loves his Jolly Ball and roaming our property looking for hidden treasures that he can play keep away with. We have no doubt that he will produce wonderful companions and hunters alike!

For us, Walker is more than another Brittany in a pedigree. He is five generations of Stonesriver history wrapped into one very special Brittany—the past we treasure, the present we love, and a future we are incredibly excited to watch unfold. 🧡🐾
