For more than 24 years, Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys has been more than a breeding program—it has been a family legacy built on love, healing, faith, and an unwavering passion for the Brittanys. Every Brittany, every litter, and every family that has become part of our journey has helped shape the story of who we are today.
Spend 5 minutes to learn about who we are. 💕
Grab a cup of coffee or tea, get comfortable, and welcome to our story.
Our journey began in 2002 when Charlie Fulton received his very first female Brittany as a heartfelt gift from his wife, Rosemary, and their son, Jay. Following the devastating loss of their eldest son, they hoped this special puppy would help Charlie find comfort, purpose, and healing.
That little orange-and-white Brittany was Madison River Girl, lovingly known as "Maddie." She quickly became much more than a companion—she helped restore joy to Charlie's life. Inspired by her remarkable temperament, intelligence, and affectionate nature, Charlie immersed himself in learning everything he could about the Brittany breed. He built the kennel from the ground up, registered her with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and laid the foundation for what would become Stonesriver Kennel.
The following year, Gunnison River Boy, affectionately known as "The Original Gunner," joined the family. Named after the Gunnison River in Colorado, Gunner and Maddie became the foundation of our breeding program in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Their bloodline continues to influence our kennel to this day, making them the true cornerstones of our kennel.
In 2010, Stonesriver Kennel found its forever home on Brittany Lane in Manchester, Tennessee. The road itself carries a special meaning. It was Rosemary who lovingly chose the name "Brittany Lane," wanting the road leading to the kennel to forever reflect the breed that had become such an important part of their family's life. Today, every visitor who turns onto Brittany Lane is reminded of her vision, her love for the breed, and the legacy she helped Charlie create.
As the years passed, our family—and our kennel—continued to grow. In April 2021, Jay and Cynthia Fulton proudly became co-owners alongside Charlie and Rosemary after Rosemary suffered a stroke and retired from the day-to-day operations of the kennel.
In 2024, the kennel officially became known as Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys, reflecting our dedication to preserving and promoting the American and French Brittanys. Around that same time, our followers on social medias began affectionately referring to us simply as SRK—a nickname that quickly became recognized across social media platforms. Today, when people mention SRK, they're not just talking about a kennel. They're talking about a family, a community, and a shared passion for one of the finest breeds in the upland world.
In April 2025, Charlie officially retired, confidently passing the torch to the next generation. Today, Jay and Cindi Fulton proudly own and operate Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys, carrying forward the traditions, values, and vision established by Charlie and Rosemary more than two decades ago.
In August 2025, SRK welcomed another exciting addition when we traveled to Southeast Texas to bring home Magnum Top Gunner, known as "Crockett Rockett." Crockett's outstanding pedigree, natural ability, and exceptional qualities have become an important part of our future breeding program.
In May 2026, we experienced the heartbreaking loss of one of the most beloved Brittanys to ever call Stonesriver Kennel home—Charlie Boy. More than an exceptional sire, Charlie Boy was a loyal companion, a gentle soul, and a Brittany whose personality touched everyone who met him. His influence on our breeding program and our family can never be measured. Although he is deeply missed, his legacy lives on through his daughter, Charlie Boy's Gracie Belle, and his grandson, Walker-Sage, ensuring that a part of Charlie Boy will always remain at SRK for generations to come.
Just two months later, in July 2026, our family experienced another tremendous loss with the passing of Rosemary Fulton, the heart of our family and one of the founding pillars of Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys. Her compassion, kindness, and unconditional love for both people and Brittanys shaped everything this kennel has become. Although she is no longer with us, her fingerprints remain everywhere—from the road she named Brittany Lane to the values by which we raise every puppy. Every family we welcome, every puppy we nurture, and every life we touch is a reflection of the love she poured into our kennel.
One of the most meaningful parts of our story is that our original bloodline still lives on today. Through thoughtful, responsible breeding, we have carefully preserved those foundation genetics while introducing additional bloodlines to strengthen health, temperament, hunting instinct, and versatility.
Over the years, Stonesriver Kennel Brittanys has proudly produced accomplished hunting companions, agility competitors, service dogs, therapy dogs, and, most importantly, beloved family members.
Whether you're searching for your next hunting partner, your first Brittany, or simply following our journey, we thank you for taking the time to learn our story.
We invite you to come experience our little piece of Brittany Paradise and become part of our SRK family.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Fultons Jay & Cindi
